Cultural Connections in the Park: Transformer Tales: Stories of the Dawnland

Cultural Connections in the Park: Transformer Tales: Stories of the Dawnland

Wabanaki culture is alive and present in this original piece conceived and written by local Wabanaki artists, the People of the Dawnland. Experience a multimedia exploration of what it means to be of and from the Dawnland itself, incorporating cultural tales from the past with the vibrant life of the Wabanaki present and an eye to the future. Celebrate the earth, the skies, the rivers and the people of the Dawnland in these evocative tales told via poems, stories, music and Wabanaki language. Conservation, preservation and passion come together to become Transformer Tales.

This world premiere production is produced by the Abbe Museum Calendar - Penobscot Theatre Company as part of Acadia National Park's Centennial Celebration.

All of the Cultural Connections in the Park programs are sponsored by Dawnland, LLC, are offered in partnership with Acadia National Park, and are free and open to the public. In 2015, 3,191 visitors attended 12 different Cultural Connections in the Park programs, making it our most successful year to date!
